The Miño-Sil Hydrographic Confederation and the University of Vigo held a working meeting in Madrid with the Centre for Hydrographic Studies of CEDEX

The Miño-Sil Hydrographic Confederation and the University of Vigo held a working meeting yesterday in Madrid with the technicians of the Centre for Hydrographic Studies of CEDEX, an autonomous body attached to the Ministry of Development and for Ecological Transition.

This meeting, framed in the activities of the RISC_ML Project, arose with the objective of carrying out a joint review of the global and regional models that will be used to estimate the impact of climate change on the variables of the atmospheric phase of the hydrological cycle.

These models will be used to estimate these variables for the periods 2010-2040, 2040-2070 and 2070-2100. With the results obtained, a comparison will be made with the values recorded in the historical reference period 1950-2006.

In another phase, the variables of the terrestrial phase of the hydrological cycle will be evaluated for the same periods, using CEDEX’s SIMPA model.

This meeting is part of the work of Activity 1 of the RISC-ML project, on the hydrographic and hydrological analysis of the international basin, the new inventory of water resources and the impact of climate change on them, and is a continuation of the meetings held at the Centre for Hydrographic Studies during the second half of 2018 and in January 2019.
