Today, the technicians of the CHMS of the APA and of the Universities of Vigo and Porto, held a meeting, at the headquarters of the CHMS Basin Control Centre, on “Hydrometeorological modelling for the prevention of extreme phenomena”, the centre where data are received, via satellite and every 15 minutes, from the control stations located at strategic points of the demarcation.

Since the beginning of the project, fourteen meetings of the joint technical working group have been held, created for the correct implementation and management of the project. The main objective of the project is to minimize and evaluate the effects of extreme phenomena (droughts and floods) and climate change on the management of our water bodies and their associated ecosystems, in order to achieve the elaboration of a single hydrological and management plan for the entire international hydrographic demarcation in compliance with the Water Framework Directive and to contribute to the improvement and achievement of their good status.
