RISC_ML aims to “design joint measures aimed at prevention, preparedness, prediction and better management of extreme events, such as floods and droughts, in the Miño-Lima international river basin district in order to mitigate their effects. This project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the Interreg V-A Spain-Portugal Programme (POCTEP) 2014-2020”.

A better understanding of the international river basin district, the establishment of mechanisms for joint drought management and flood early warning will allow for greater preparedness and response capacity in the territory for floods. This is why this project would not be viable without the express cooperation of the basin organizations responsible on the part of both States, as well as of the research centers in the matter.
