Spain and Portugal commit themselves to increasing cooperation in the joint management of Spanish-Portuguese river basins

  • The meeting has served to reinforce the good understanding between Spain and Portugal in the management and protection of the water resources of the basins shared by both countries: the Miño-Sil, Duero, Tajo and Guadiana basins.
  • The meeting addressed various aspects related to the joint management of shared basins and advocated for promoting the process of coordinating the hydrological plans of the second cycle and the public consultation procedures.
  • The director general for Water has valued the joint work being carried out by Spain and Portugal in the defense of the rivers that run through both countries.
